Program Overview

Week 1:  Algebra Foundations

Students begin by strengthening the essential algebra skills needed for success in Math 1. Through interactive lessons and guided practice, they will explore numerical and algebraic expressions, apply properties of operations and exponents, simplify expressions, and develop mathematical reasoning skills that support problem-solving across all areas of mathematics.

Week 2:  Equations and Inequalities

During Week 2, students will build confidence solving one-step and multi-step equations and inequalities. They will learn how algebra can be used to model and solve real-world situations while strengthening their ability to reason mathematically and communicate their thinking.

Week 3: Linear Relationships

Students will investigate linear relationships by exploring slope, graphing, rate of change, and writing equations of lines. They will develop an understanding of how multiple representations—including tables, graphs, equations, and verbal descriptions—can be used to analyze and interpret mathematical relationships.

Week 4:  Functions and Math 1 Preview

In the final week, students will be introduced to key function concepts, including function notation, domain and range, and the differences between linear, exponential, and quadratic relationships. The bootcamp concludes with a Math 1 readiness review, confidence-building activities, and strategies to help students transition successfully into their upcoming Math 1 course.
